Bananafish Screening
Bananafish, a new short film by independent filmmaker Frank Ciatto, actor/screenwriter/director, will be shown 9 p.m. following the Opening Reception of the second annual Members Show that begins at 5 p.m.Come meet the filmmaker who will be on hand to answer questions about the film and his ongoing projects.
Bananafish is also to be screened on August 29 at 7 p.m. at the Fulton Street Gallery in Troy. Both showings are part of the monthly Troy Night Out.
Born in Brooklyn and a graduate of Albany High School, Ciatto trained as a stage actor in New York City before moving to Los Angeles to study with legendary acting coach Charlie Laughton.
While pursuing an acting career, Ciatto began writing scripts and enjoyed success with a short film script titled The New Lesson Plan that was an Urban Outsider Award Winner in 2005, as well as the feature film script for the romantic comedy Favorable Misfortune that was a 2007 Scriptapalooza screenplay competition finalist.
In 2006, Ciatto moved to England to continue training as an actor and also enrolled at the American Intercontinental University of London to study media production. He continues to split his time between London and New York and currently has a feature film script titled Paradise Beach in development with the U.K. Film Council.
Opportunity will be available for potential investors to participate in the financing of Paradise Beach, which will be filmed in India.
